These toys are such a huge hit right now so we opened up our art studio to a fun group of 13 kids for them to create their own.

Step 1:    Cut the foam into desired size.  I cut them into 3"x 3" so that everyone started out the same size square.

Step 2:    Draw on your foam square the shape of what you're going to create.

Step 3:   Start cutting.  I used sharp sewing scissors but I set out a set of elementary safety scissors for the kids to use.

It definitely wasn't super easy for them to cut but I showed them out to snip off little pieces as a time to get the desired shape.

Step 4:   Shave off hair chalk to create a powder using scissors.  I reused old plastic containers to catch the powder in.  Then using old makeup brushes or even kids foam paint brushes, brush on the powder.

Step 5:   The kids can decorate the foam pieces in so many different ways. We used thick and thin sharpie markers, fabric markers, chalk powder, and puffy paint.

Step 6:   Let dry and they're ready for play.
