Field Trip: Butterfly Garden.
After learning about butterflies, we took a field trip to the Butterfly Garden in Arizona called Butterfly Wonderland and had an unexpected friend visit us up close and personal.

This Butterfly Lore kit provides an opportunity to watch caterpillars change into chrysalides and then emerge as beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies.
The girls enjoyed learning about the life stages of the butterflies and watching as they continued to change. Today we were able to set them free to live outside.
Please excuse the cute little pajamas. We set them free in the morning on a beautiful and warm day.
We learned how the oils from our skin can damage the delicate wings of the butterflies so we knew not to touch them. However, this one decided to pay our daughter a little visit. She stood very still and waited for him to leave. She got a little sad saying goodbye to her new little friends but it was a great experience.
