Dramatic Play Center: Pizza
I am excited to announce that the dramatic play center is changing into a Pizzeria! We will be developing language skills, literacy skills, social skills and math skills during our pretend play. Learning through play!

These adorable mini pizza boxes were purchased off of Amazon  {Gotta love Amazon Prime's 2 day free shipping}  Count of 50 for less than $20!

The felt pizzas I hand created a few years ago.

The Pizza Recipe card was downloaded from Pocket of Preschool and I laminated it so the kids can continue to play with it for years to come.

I just love our P I Z Z E R I A  banner from Pocket of Preschool!  It's a great addition to our kitchen center.

The Pizza Seasoning pretend set from Melissa and Doug has been a huge hit with the children.  The love the realistic look of the seasonings and enjoy shaking it on even their real pizzas (it doesn't really come out)

Support your child's pretend play by allowing the experience of creating their own real pizza at home (or your education center).

Or take them to a real Pizzeria and show them around.  We were lucky to find this wonderful pizzeria on our travels where they allowed the children to create their own dinner.  I adore the chef hats they received.

Things to Discuss:

  • Repeat the word pizza often, emphasizing the sound P  "P, P, Pizza"
  • Ask what kind of pizza would they like to eat.
  • Talk about a pizza recipe and read the directions aloud.
